7 is a mystical number, the number of perfection. Around the world, in all religions and cultures, the number 7 frequently appears within myths and legends and as a symbol of luck or power. 

In Christian lore there were 7 days of creation, there were 7 gifts of the Holy Ghost, Christ spoke 7 times on the cross, there were 7 sorrows of Mary, and 7 joys of Mary, there are 7 seals in the book of revelations, The Catholic church has 7 sacrements

7 deadly sins – pride, envy, gluttony, lust, anger, greed and sloth 

and 7 Heavenly Virtues - faith, hope, charity, fortitude, justice, temperance, prudence which combine four ‘Cardinal Virtues’: prudence, temperance, fortitude - or courage, and justice, with a variation of the three theological virtues: faith, hope, and charity.
